James Calderbank is an artist, writer, and antiquarian based in the South West of the United Kingdom. In 2024, he graduated from Falmouth University with a First-Class Master’s Degree in Authorial Practice (Illustration). Since then, he has exhibited his work in numerous shows, published a range of essays and short graphic novel stories, and co-founded Taproom Tapestries, a comic collective celebrating the strange and uncanny.

In late 2025, James released the first issue of Excalibur, an independent publication devoted to exploring and celebrating the history, folklore, and mythology of the British Isles.
